Hi, I'm David Hukom, a seasoned Visual Designer, UI/UX Designer, and Art Director based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve been fortunate to immerse myself in both traditional print design and the evolving world of digital design. My career has spanned various industries, from working with government agencies, startups, and digital agencies, to building brands and designing intuitive digital products.
My Journey: Print to Digital I began my design career working in the print industry—creating book layouts, calendars, and newspapers. It was a time when attention to detail, precision, and traditional design principles shaped my approach to visual communication. Over the first six years, I honed my skills in prepress advertising, ensuring every design was print-ready and conveyed the right message.
The shift from print to digital opened up a new creative chapter for me. For nearly nine years now, I’ve been working in UI/UX design, collaborating with startups and digital agencies to design meaningful experiences for SaaS platforms, mobile apps, websites, and more. I’ve led projects that have helped clients solve complex problems with intuitive, user-centered designs.
What I Do I specialize in bridging the gap between visual design and user experience. Whether it's designing a website interface, crafting a seamless mobile app experience, or creating a new brand identity, my work focuses on ensuring that the design is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. I believe that good design should make people’s lives easier without them even realizing it.

UI/UX Design: From wireframes to prototypes and everything in between. I’m passionate about creating seamless, user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
Branding & Visual Design: I help businesses build strong, cohesive brand identities, designing everything from logos and marketing materials to full-scale event designs.
Product Development: Currently, I’m focusing on product design for SaaS platforms and apps, ensuring products are not only visually engaging but also user-centric.
Creative Leadership As a Creative Supervisor at PT Global Indo Enterprise, I lead a team of designers and multimedia experts, managing multiple projects across different digital platforms. I also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, overseeing the creative direction and user research to ensure we build products that resonate with users and meet business goals.
In addition to hands-on design work, I enjoy mentoring young designers and sharing insights from my experiences in the industry. It's always rewarding to see others grow and find their voice in the ever-changing world of design.
My Design Philosophy At the core of my work is a strong belief in user-centered design. I approach every project by thinking about how the design will serve the people using it. For me, design is more than just making something look good—it’s about crafting an experience that solves problems and makes life a little better.
I believe in continuous learning and staying curious. As the industry evolves, I continue to expand my knowledge through online courses and exploring new tools and technologies. From UX research to design systems, I’m always looking for ways to improve my craft.
Outside of Design When I’m not designing, you can find me working on my personal projects. I enjoy illustration, managing a YouTube channel focused on graphic design, and hosting my podcast where I discuss design trends, creative processes, and everything in between. I’m also a lifelong learner, currently pursuing a degree in Management at Universitas Terbuka.
